I agree with Jason, the new CBA and the salary cap bought the teams some time to figure out their finances.
The sunbelt state teams will be prtoected by the league... remember, it is Bettman's babies and creations, and he will protect them as long as he is the comissioner. The team that really could be hurting if it doesn't start winning soon is Pittsburg. They will have another exciting player in Malkin coming in to join the ranks with Crosby, so that will generate excitement and revenue to begin with, but they better start winning soon. Pens fans seem to be growing weary.
I am also wondering about Columbus, Washington and Chicago. Let's face it, they suck, and I don't see much of a salvation coming down the ice... not even with Ovechkin creating one highlight reel after the other in Washington.
