Afghanistan - Should Canada really pull out?

Is it an admission of defeat or is it a prudent thing to do? Canada really does not have a exit strategy.

In history, the British - the Russians - and recently the USA had insurmountable problems with the Afghanis.

Canada is there to free up citizens from the clutches of Taliban? I somehow can't believe that.

In war, one does not know the real reason. But whatever it is, it's a losing battle. We should cut our losses and get the heck out of there. Let them fight their own battles, we do not have to do it for them. Agree? What are your views?

What do you think as to why we are there? Is it out of the goodness of our hearts or is there a hidden agenda? If our young men and women fight to defend our country I would say that's great.

To do it for some other country - and to witness so many of our young sons and daughters come home in body bags - I can't fathom the advisability of it all. Agree? What are your views?

I think that Afghanistan is rapidly becoming another Vietnam but that is only my personal belief. I think they should pull out . These people have been warring for centuries and they won't stop anytime soon unless we help to kill off an entire society. Going over there has not seemed to deter them from plotting and scheming against other countries.

My feelings exactly. And, it is NOT about the oil. We, Canadians, are yet to hear from our PM - Stephen Harper - to our satisfaction as to the reasons why we are there. It pains me to see we sacrifice our youngsters for nothing.
Canadians have been in many wars as bait. What are we doing? Helping out the US? Now we need passports just to visit the USA. Friends? Ha! This is another Viet Nam. Why continue to kill each other for economic gain? War puts people to work but It also kills thousands of innocent people. Get out!

So what of the people we have already lost, what they were expendable? And what do we say when they the people who we are fighting come to our boarders and want to take over our country, you don't really think they will come with peaceable intentions do you?

They should never have gone in. I was trained as a soldier. Told I was being trained to GUARD people's rights and freedoms. Told I was a PEACE KEEPER. I was LIED to, as I watch CANADIAN people being unjustly abused and murdered by POLICE.

I guess i'm the only Canadian that really supports our troops in Afghanistan. What we get from the press is just the bad that is going on, believe me, we are doing good over there. I'm a military Mom, whose son has served twice there, and i'm very proud of what we are doing for the Afghani people.

    No. Absolutely not.

Lately somebody has been making a bit of noise, trying to get the government to pull our troops out of Afghanistan. It's the NDP. They're just a bunch of crackpots anyway.

Personally, I don't believe that we should be there at all. Canada has always been a peacekeeping nation. I would sure like to see it kept that way.
Bush is trying to garner as much support as he can for his little war and our good old Mr Harper fell right into his web.
The liberals and NDP are against Canada being there and if the Liberals had got in Federally, we would not be in Afgahanistan.
The war, right from the start has been about nothing but oil.
Its time to wake up Canada, think about what you are doing before its too late and we become the next target!!
    It's not our war...

Didn't the Canadian police just arrest a cell of terrorists that was planning to attack your country ? Are you for real, or just a fool ?
