What was the motive in those Montreal shootings yesterday?

Just heard about it now- saw some footage- how terrible!!! Did that nut job have a motive for the killings, or was it blood lust?

sadly there's no motive except an estranged man that was alone in his own world with no connection to reality, society and "normal" life> We're becoming a world of lonely aliens who don't care about human life, respect, environment and reality, It's not an excuse but I heard on TV he was labeled as a weirdo by his neighborhood that never said hallo to him> he knew only his dark fake gothic world in which killing is a sort of freedom> I remember many years ago those were the reason of heroic suicide but the way he killed the girl, in cold blood, made me have goosebumps. I'm just asking myself: how many of us are like that, ready to explode like a time bomb because we are not able to deal with everyday issues? how many times we label people as loser or weirdo? This is a defeat and mourning for all of us.

I like the thought you put into this- but the guy was a wacko goth wimp looking for power. How many of those are out there? Being white and growing up w/$ must be tough on ones soul...

They supposedly found some things about Columbine and a lot of hatred and killing internet sites on the computer as well.

I don't think they have ascertained the reason behind it. Since the gunman was killed by police, it may never be known 100%.

I don;t think a clear motive had been declared as yet. But they did say that the assailant was a 25 year old gentleman who was a part of some vampire related website.

He had a blog where he described his ideal as dying like Romeo and Juliet or under a hail of bullets. He also said that he hated "jocks", and that he felt life was like a video game (except that he forgot: real life does not have reset button, cheat code and multiple lives). He was very gothic, and enjoyed violent videogames.

I guess he just reached his limit and simply broke in a fury of hatred. So, no real specific motive, he just enjoyed the concept of killing.

What we can wonder is, why isn't there some sort of monitoring of blogs by people who are real wakos, and say so themsleves so that psychological help could be provided?

Oh, and for the record: police did not kill him. He was taking two people hostage and a policeman shot him in the leg. He fell to the ground, got his handgun out and shot himself in the face. Perhaps he should have started by doing that.
