Why aren't there Asians on American Idol?

I've notice that there is not that many asians ever in American Idol. I've been on youtube lately and theres alot of good asian singers and I really don't know why theres no asians on american Idol!!!!! Why do you think that is?

Considering the population, there are not many Asian pop singers in the mainstream of the pop industry. However, this may account for their tendency to obsess over pop stars when pop stars visit their countries and tour there. Additionally the Asians are known for their love of kareoke as well. There is a massive appreciation and admiration for popular music but there is not a strong culture for releasing them as pop artists. I am from Australia and haven't seen American Idol recently but on Australian idol there have been no serious Asian finalists - many of the auditionees are very "extreme" and one person made a cover of a pop single and released it (even though the whole staff of Australian Idol knew it was taking the mickey out ot the industry). I am a classical singer and there are certainly a lot more Asian singers in the classical industry (opera singers) - as classical music is regarded very highly by Asian families (in general - it is very highly respected). Most of the best violin and piano students in Australia are Asian. They have a high work ethic. But perhaps trying to break into the pop industry is frowned upon by Asian families (it is not seen as a secure job) and so other careers are encouraged. Asians certainly do celebrate pop music even though they are not strongly present as singers. I would love to hear Asians answer this question to hear their viewpoint.

Theres an ''American Idol'' in every country so the Asians probably participate in the ones that take place within Asian countries. lol I dont know. Check my question out tho Id like more answers lol :)

first off they cant sing and after that one ******* made and idiot out of the asian race.. so i think there staying away from that.

yeah remember william hung... and jasmine trias from the second (i think) season of american idol........she was 3rd place.
