Is it true that 90 percent of North American First Nation peoples (tribes) no longer exist?

Is it true that only a relatively few number of First Nation tribes exists in comparison to pre-european arrival and colonization?

At the time of the Columbian Exchange the estimated population of North and South America was at least 40 million. Due to imported pathogens, in a few centuries these populations fell to just a few million.

"Over 90%" is the wide accepted percentage.

Asker's Comment:
I did want to know whether all the bands/tribes that existed in pre-european colonized North America are still around today? I heard that 90% are not considered to extist today.
hell thet're rebuilding fast anyways. thats all they do, and complain about their laziness and incompitance to survive and blame everybody else for their stupidity.

I would add that many of the colonizers were the first to practise germ warfare-to Bob L-he's just jealous he is not getting any-also there are many 'Indians' out there that work a lot harder than him-and that is something i would guarantee in this fading racist patriarchal society
