Personally, I think it will create more problems. Having him sit in a jail and rot would diminish his personna. Execueting him will make him a martyr to many of his supporters and also set a precedent that scares many of our allies in the region.

In this case it will give resolution to thousands of people who had family members brutally murdered by him for no reason, or simply for not following him. On the other hand, we could keep him alive for life in jail, let him make money in jail, have three full course meals each day, watch cable television etc all on our dime (hint: sarcasm) Let him go down for what he did!

Solve definitely. People in Iraq still fear his return to power. Many are uneducated and do not believe his reign has ended. I was there for a year and learned this by asking locals what they felt. Once he is executed it will prove he can no longer return to power and that fear or hope to others will no longer exist. Maybe then they won't be so afraid to move forward to establish a less corrupt government and secure their country.

I think it may create more chaos in Iraq. That is one country that fights over everything. I don't understand why they keep fighting whether it's over religious beliefs or other beliefs. They will find some reason to fight and kill after Saddams execution. They'll blame us of course for all of this, you know how much they hate Americans. We will soon find out if his death will create more problems or solve some major issues. Iraq is such a torn country I'm so PROUD to be American!!

It may create more problems, in Iraq & elsewhere.Bush in his almost 8 years of International MISRULE & tyranny, has made this world,a worst place to live in, to move around & to enjoy.Through him, AMERICA has lost the respect,it had earned internationally,with the efforts of some of it's great leaders like Martin Luther King.

Saddam Hussein is no better than all of those innocent lives he took away. He was just another human being like anyone else who should face the consequences of his actions.Nobody should have fear that this idiot's death will bring any reprisal because in any case the world is tired of blood thirsty people who kill people in the name of a demon they call allah.

First of all I have to wonder why the rush. Convicted criminals sit in prisons in the USA for years on death row and the sentence is put on hold. Not so for Hussein. Swift justice. I think that if he is really dead, we will see more violence but outside of Iraq.
I think when people finally realize he will never be back, the country will heal. But I see his supporters taking the fight to the perceived enemy. Mainly the United States and perhaps more European incidents.

I think it is delusional to believe that the execution of Saddam Hussein will solve any of the outstanding issues in the middle east....take a look at the news reports since the hanging last night....death and more devastation in the country. Although I would like to believe that peace and sanctity may one day prevail in Iraq, I do not think the executing of Saddam will create that for those people. So many innocent lives have been lost already and more will come, that's for sure. The people of Iraq have been conditioned since birth to accept a certain way of life. Yes it is sad but it's what they are taught. Some will forever avenge Saddam's death because they view it as a great tragedy while others will say a prayer and be overjoyed that he is no longer. Saddam got the easy way out. He is free from the hatred, free from the fighting, and free from being punished for the crimes he committed. HE IS DEAD, and even if rotting, in hell he still wins.
