What do you think of the big media moguls like Quebec-Cor. that buy up smaller news papers and weeklies?

Do you think their aim is simply to be filthy rich, or are they trying to control the medium like the thought "police"? In other words, invisible censorship?

I don't like it when just a few media empires own all of the local media outlets. In our town, we used to have 2 individual news agencies, but now they're joined, so that if you have issues with the editorial staff, you can't go anywhere else to publicize stuff. And I'm not sure if their aim is just to get filthy rich (they do, though), but I think they're very happy to do both (control the medium, get rich).

Thankyou. The Osprey Media Group has pretty well got Ontario all sewed up, now Quebec-Cor is buying Osprey up. I think Conrad Black will walk away a free man. Its all about media control nowadays.
