Absolutely free full vehicle history report?
i found a car that i really want. its in my price range, used, but sporty. i want to make sure that spending all this money on this car isnt going to end up with me broken down on the side of the road in a couple weeks/months. therefore i want to get a full vehicle history report for free. i dont want to spend anymore money than i have to. i know that there is a way to get a full vehicle history report for free out there somewhere so i was thinking maybe someone could help me. thanks.
oh ps.. i have already checked out carfax and autocheck...so please dont recommend them for me... thanks again..

First of all do some research. Dont buy a car just on its looks. You can get a nice looking car that is reliable too. And as far as a full vehicle history report, there is no such thing unless its been all documented at a shop or dealership. Think about all the do-it-yourselfers and Joe Blows that work out of there backyard. Do you think there will be any record of those repairs? If you see a car you like take it to a mechanic you trust so he can put it on a lift and check it out well. If the seller doesnt want to let you do this dont buy a car from them. GOOD LUCK

The history only tells you if recalls rave been performed or certain major repairs. Has the oil/filter been replaced every 3to5 thousand miles? pay a certified mechanic (One who advertises this service,) to physically check over the car, that will better tell you about the car's future! Based upon it's actual current condition. The History cannot check the tires, brakes, transmission operation,or steering parts condition!

So... you'll spend thousands on a car but won't spend $20 on a history report?
