Have I got the answer for you! If the stains are really bad, soak them in a bucket of hot water with DISHWASHER detergent. Make sure it disolves first, swishing the water around until it does. Swish the clothes in the water and let sit for a day or so. For the not so bad stains, add DISHWASHER detergent to your washer along with the regular detergent. Baby clothes come out like new. Make sure you use an extra rinse though.

I haven't tried this yet but I bet you it will work. I;ve used dishwasher detergent for many other things, just never thought of it this time! THANKS

I was never able to get them out of my daughter's clothes. She had a special milk formula and it stained everything. Best to throw them away or ask the friend's daughter if she minds the stains.

I can suggest this , soak in cold water and rub in good old fashioned soap bar, soap . Leaving the soap on and the clothes free from water for at least 1/2 hr. back to cold water ,give a rub to the stains. This time rub in more soap and pop into your washing machine on a 40ºc normal wash cycle , adding your normal washing powder. Once washed hang the clothes outside in the sun , the sun will bleach any remaining stains out the natural way, If the stains are hard to remove , every now and then sprinkle cold water on them whilst they are in the sun . The old fashioned way of removing stubborn stains , I can also suggest a product called Dr Beckmanns stain remover, but not sure you can find this where you live , this removes every kind of stain there is. Look it up for yourself

When I was pregnant with my first I also received clothes from a friend. They pretty much all came with milk/spit-up stains. I couldn't figure out why my friend sent me all this stained clothing. I decided to try and use Shout on the necklines and specific stains and got almost everything piece of clothing clean (bags and bags of stuff too). I don't use baby detergent, I just do an extra rinse. Now after two more children I realize that these stains are unusual in that they will disappear when washed but reappear after sitting in drawer/box over time. I'd wash them and pass them and not worry about it.
