Penicillin (sometimes abbreviated PCN) is a group of beta-lactam antibiotics used in the treatment of bacterial infections, such as ear infections.

Levaquin is in a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones (flor-o-KWIN-o-lones). Levaquin is used to treat bacterial infections that cause bronchitis, pneumonia, chlamydia, gonorrhea, skin infections, urinary tract infections, and infections of the prostate.

Metronidazole is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, stomach, skin, joints, and respiratory tract. This medication will not treat a vaginal yeast infection.

Excellent distinction. I appreciate it. Test on Wednesday! :-) Our drug cards do not go into that much detail.
