Depends on the type of pain. Ibuprofen (advil) is an anti-inflammatory, so if you have a toothache, a respiratory infection, a UTI, etc.. then it would be better. However, it causes stomache problems, and is a blood thinner. So if you have a blood disorder, or an ulcer, don't take it.
Acetominophen (tylenol) is just fine for everything else.
Also, if you're asking about it for a child, you should know that babies under 6 months shouldn't take ibuprofen w/o a Dr's advice.

advil has been proven to work better with less side effects.

Depends on the person and the ailment. Tylenol
(Acetaminephine) does little to nothing for me, so
I take Advil in general, but too many Advil (Ibuprofen)
isn't good either.
If your Dr isn't available right now - call your local
pharmacy.

Depends on the person. I personally think Advil (ibuprofen) works better than Tylenol (acetomenophin) for headaches and cramps.
