Closing down Disney's California Adventure?

Question

Today i heard someone say that they read in the news paper that they were closing down Disney's California Adventure becuase it wasn't making as much money as they thought it would. Is this true? Has anybody heard anything? I really hope this is a rumor, i love it there! What does everyone else think?

Well part of that's true and part of it isn't. California Adventure isn't making as much money as they wanted, but it is NOT closing down. It will be undergoing a 5 or so year remodel/expansion to "fix" the park, remove some attractions (California Screamin, Tower of Terror, Grizzly River Run, and Soarin' Over California are definitely staying, along with some others) add new attractions & shows, and eventually attract more people. As of right now, the park will stay open even during the construction (though sections of the park may have to close down for a while).

I really dont think that disney would close down a amusment park becaus ethey love to make money even if it was not making a lot of money they would not close it down Also it has alot of concerts in the future already shuddled so I dont think they are going to close it down even if it was getting closed they would not do it soon

That is not true but this is:

They are redoing california adventure. They are keeping the big rides like Tower of Terror but rides like the Zepher they are getting rid of. When you first walk in it will be like a 1920's theme (just when you first walk in). It was in the LA times so check out Latimes.com.

they are giving it a billion (yes, Billion--with a B) dollar makeover, they are not closing it!
They are spending more on the makeover than they did to first build it!

No, it is not closing. It is going to have extensive re-working done to it (yes, one billion dollars has been approved, more than the cost to build it originally). I think it will be great, the park needs a desperate face-lift, even at such a young age. Here is a good article to read that speaks to the changes from an insider. Enjoy.

nope it is still open and what i see they are not running low on money they are making a lot so it is still going to be open.

They are not closing down California Adventure they are making a new park out of it...they are going to change the name and add new attractions like more kid friendly attractions and they are getting rid of the lake, possibly the roller coaster, the golden dreams, and most of the bugs life attractions and adding more disney like attractions...they are putting a lot of money into the park...I wish they would leave it alone and just add to it I think it looks great right now just needs some more impovement like in the hollywood section put stars down with the disney characters names and in front of the theater put the hand prints of all the disney characters....little things like that would make a great improvement
