On average a car should do 10 - 15K per year..so if the car is 2yrs old...expect it to have no more that 30K on the clock.
Also make sure that it has a full service history..Don't touch it otherwise.

a car apparently should 12,000 miles a year so just times it by how many years old the car is and then you will know roughly if its good or not.

Very close to the length of a piece of string! Depends on age of car and likely usage: less for a townie and more for a travelling salesperson.

10 -12k for every year, make, model and service history are important factors to consider too.

The average annual milage on a car should be 12,000 miles per year,so for example: if the car is 4 years old then the milage should be around 48,000 miles. On engines now a days,a good service history is more important to how many miles the car has done.

According to the R.A.C., the average mileage nowadays is between 12.000 and 15.000 per year so based on those figures the average 5 year old used car will have between 60 to 65.000 miles on it...However if it has been properly maintained you shouldnt get too much to worry about....best of luck, steve

I work in the big car auctions
the average 2nd hand car would be from 45,000 mils to anything up to 130, 000......depends on the make
big diesel cars can go round the clock twice.
Look at the body' not the mileage

I bought an old car about a yr ago. It had over 100,000 mile and still running no oil leaks. . All depends on how the owner took care of the car tune up ect..I love mine b/c is just 4 cylinders which is great considering the gas prices. So miles doesn't necessary means the car is bad as long as it was taken care of.
I bought my car from a private owner not from a dealership.
