Have the party on a yacht. That would be just fabulous. Or, if you don't have the cash for a yacht, then just serve fish for the main course. Have a whale of a time, sweetie.

Maybe a cake covered in *fake* fishing lures. Dress the groomsmen in fishing hats and have the bridesmaids wear a dress with some sort of netting along the skirt. Use lots of blues and green colors, along with neutral browns. You could use gummi worms as part of the desserts, and use nets and colorful fishing lures and fake fish as decorations.

Put the grooms bestman and the maid of honor in chest waders, move the wedding outside and perform the ceremony in a boat, or better yet charter a large fishing boat and have the wedding on the water and then have everyone fish during the reception.

instead of flavoured almonds you could have we net bags off sweetie worms .your cake could be traditional white with fish up the sides something along the lines of the seashell wedding cakes you get you could have fish bowls on tables as centrepieces with tiny fishing rods falling into water from side off bowl the worlds your oyster play with it and see what you come up with.

"cast nets" on the walls, rods and reels, creel, "throw cushion" for kneeling pads if appropriate, caviar, hookless lures for names at place settings, fish shaped water glasses, bonine packets for "seasickness" .... deep water fishing honeymoon..... flying bridge as "archway" for the actualy ceremony....gangway instead of "red carpet".... better yet get married on an actual fishing boat.... charter the boat for the day and take everyone deep sea fishing after the ceremony is over (while boat tied to dock).... sounds like fun

I think this is a great idea! My husband is obsessed with fishing (he's a commercial fisherman) and really would have wanted to get married on his boat out in the ocean, but it's not big enough for all our family to fit on it. I wish I would've thought of the idea to incorporate fishing into our wedding since it's a huge part of our life!

I like the yacht idea, but if that's not an option, why not try having it at a marina. Do a tropical island type motif. Kind of like Gilligan's Island theme and that way you could incorporate the "fishing" in to it! Try using fishing nets and those big sword fish (plastic) around! Instead of bows down the aisles, use bouis!(sp) I think it's neat that you want to include your/your bf's hobby in to the wedding! Way to start a new life together! Caring about each other's wants and interest! Good for you!

A "fishing theme" wedding? Whatever you fancy I guess. Maybe get some fish shaped stuff for the table, or little fishing pole picture holders. I'm sure you can find fish stuff like that somewhere on the interent.

Have tall clear cylindrical vases with either a real fish (if you know what to do with them afterwards) or fake fish and top off the whole thing with a pretty flower arrangement.

Sounds like a lot of fun! A strictly "fishing" theme could be difficult to pull off, but if you incorporate more of a nautical theme it could be cute. Boats, anchors, waves etc. could be part of the theme instead of just rod, reel, fish, and bait. Your colors could be a blue or a green. You could put on napkins, favors, etc.:
"John and Jenn: 'hooked' on each other; June 1, 2008"
...I love the gummi worm idea :) You could also make a signature cocktail with swedish fish floating in them or something.

What a fun idea..love it (my dad was a professional fisherman)!!
Have your guests names written on little paper fish, have your wedding box designed like a tackle box or boat, decorate your cake with fake fish net and on top have the bride and groom figurines fishing together.
Have fun and Congrats!

I have done one of these before! So fun! They used fishing lures for favors, served fish for dinner. The place cards were shaped like fish and their table names (in lieu of numbers) were named after lakes the like to fish.
Let me know if you have any other questions about this event. :) Good luck and congratulations!

Though my nephew's wedding was NOT fishing themed, it was a very traditional wedding, both he and his bride like going fishing, as do his brothers and their wives. When the couple came in to the ballroom for the reception, the bridesmaids and groomsmen made an arch with fishing poles, which the bride and groom walked in under. Was neat!
