What are Some Pros/Cons of School Uniforms?

PROS:

- guys would be checking you out
- can't be made fun of the way you dress
- don't need to plan what you're going to wear in the morning, more time
- save money
- you couldn't break the schools dress code

CONS:

- can't show your sense of style
- some uniforms are really "boxxy"
- dudes look really ugly in them
- don't have any choice

i like uniforms, students look more neat and tidy in them (if wear properly).

You cannot really make what you are wearing an expression of who you are...you could...but not easily.

Pros:
you don't need to plan what you are wearing, saves lots of time in the morning
-you save money by not being "trendy"
- you save money since you only need a few outfits and it is okay to wear the same thing
-eliminates the distraction of "who wears what" in school
-solves many of the problems that dress codes try to eliminate
-you belong to the group

-you don't have a choice any more
-the uniform might not be the most complimentary style for you
- you aren't trendy
-you belong to the group

one pro is tha it is harder to get wepons ect in the school a con is there ugly

well this should be an easy question for me, because at my old school we didn't have uniforms for 4 years, then a mother proposed that we should have uniforms. so they formed a committee and vote on uniforms was unanimous (sp?)

i was really excited because i thought uniforms would be a nice change. but after a few weeks, i couldn't wait till i graduated and didn't have to wear them any more. and so :

pros:
*you don't have to pick out anything to wear to school because you'll be wearing the same thing everyday.
*principals & teachers don't have to worry about students breaking the dress code.
cons:
*uniforms can be uncomfortable at times.
*you get so sick of wearing the same thing everyday.
*there is no diversity-everyone's wearing the same and doesn't really get to express their "true style."
