Yahoo Messenger closes and says I'm signed in on another PC. As far as I know, this is my only PC. Help!?

If you have the New Yahoo Mail with chat and the desktop Yahoo Messenger, you cannot be signed in to both.

When Yahoo detects that you’re already signed into Yahoo Mail with chat and you sign in to your Messenger on your desktop, Yahoo will disconnect you. That’s why you get that message that you are signed in to another computer.

You must disable chat in your Yahoo Mail if you want to use your desktop Messenger, by doing the following:
See the smiley face next to your user name at the top of the mail page? Click it – then click Sign out of chat. (If you never signed in, the face is gray and sleeping...meaning you're already signed out/disabled.)

Since Yahoo! Mail remembers your settings from session to session, you'll be signed out of chat until you change it.

SOMEBODY is signing in on your name on another computer. change your password and don't tell anyone else

i would suggest you change your password becuase it sounds like someone knows your account name and password and is signing in as you..my husband recently had this happening to him and it turned out that his ex was signing in and reading his emails

If you have ever signed in on any other computer and left your name and password in there then it automatically signs you in on that computer...You probably forgot to sign out or remove your information on another computer that you used but you can change your password just in case.

Have you rebooted your computer? Shut everything down and try again. Sometimes I can't get my server to come up because it says it is already in use when it isn't. I restart and everything is fine. You won't be able to change your password if you can't get in. Agree with Annie, did you sign in using someone else's computer?
