When jun lozada admitted during the makati rally that "i am a sinner myself," does it make him less credible?

Lozada admits sins
By Aurea Calica
Saturday, March 1, 2008
Senate key witness Rodolfo Lozada Jr. said yesterday that administration officials are using personal issues to stop him from testifying on the botched $329-million national broadband network deal.

Lozada admitted having sinned against his family, but stressed he had been forgiven by his wife, Violeta, a long time ago.

He told The STAR that he had long been ready for this revelation and would just consider it as part of his sacrifice in coming out with the truth on the alleged anomaly in the NBN deal.

My daughter “never stops crying since the issue came out in the media. But what can I do? I cannot be selective on the truths I have to say about the anomalies in government as well as the truths about my own life,” Lozada said.

The text messages about his other woman and children were sent en masse to malign him, he added.

“I am sacrificing a lot. So much had been asked of me since I was called to expose the NBN anomaly. I hope people will forgive me. And I hope they will realize that this has nothing to do with my exposes,” Lozada said.

“They are doing this to make people think that I have no more right to reveal the way they steal in government because I am a sinner myself,” he added.

Lozada expressed confidence that the public would be discerning and must listen to what he was saying.

He said there were too many negative things coming out, but he maintained he had “turned away from evil.”

“I have crossed to the other side, to the light,” he said.

“Many people, including some of my friends, did not understand why I had to come out and put myself through all these troubles. I could have stuck it out with government, enjoy the money offered to me and be comfortable. But I chose the other way and I would say my decision would just be between me and my God,” Lozada said.

The text brigade against Lozada was reportedly perpetrated by pro-administration groups. But some of those receiving the text messages were beginning to get annoyed.

Bishop Roderick Pabillo said: “What’s important here is what he’s revealed so far. Let’s not look at the person himself but what he’s been saying, if it’s right or wrong.”

Jun Lozada presents himself as a good Catholic. He seeks refuge from Catholic Institutions. He says he is a sinner. Catholic Doctrine requires you to confess and repent your sins naming them. Jun Lozada did not disclose his sins to the public until they were made public by someone else. A true repentant bringing out the sins of others in public would have likewise brought out his own sins to the public. He wants to protect himself as much as possible while at the same time saying whatever he wants about others without any proof.

His daughter crying everyday in my opinion is a ploy to gain sympathy from the public. If he was a true man and true father he would have sat his children down and explained the situation before it was made public by others. The sad thing is according to Catholic Doctrine the children he had with the second woman will always be considered "bastards". They are not suppose to be allowed to take Communion, attend Catholic School, join a religous order, be married or buried from the Catholic Church. I believe it is terrible that we punish children for the sins of the parent, but that is the way it is.

My question is does Juan Locada support the second wife and children. I hope so because I do not think a real man would have bought designer luggage in Hong Kong for himself if not supporting all his offsprings.

What other sins will have to be brought to the public by others such as the government corruption he himself has been involved in beside the goat deal with Japan where his wife was paid a commission which had to be made public by others.

I am all for the truth, and dealing with the turth in a court of law but I do not think you can make Jun Lozada a hero because he is accomplishing your personal agendas like many in the public, Opposition Party and Catholic Church are doing. Jun Lozada is doing what he is doing to protect himself and make a future for himself.

For me he lost his credibility long before this. No kidnapped person sits by himself at the back of a car that at one point was even driven close to his residence. He even had the use of his his own mobile phone. I hope he would be willing to release to the public all his text messages and phone calls from the time he left for HK 'til he got to La Salle. This would show the true picture of what really transpired.

He seems to be well acquainted even with Senators Lacson and Madrigal and with Joey de Venecia too. His suggestion to the Senators to offer Sec. Neri "Patriotic Money" makes him appear to be a habitual bribe go-between or a deal "commissioner". The truth should really come out from him. I hope he soon shows us "real" proof and not just statements sweet to the ears of Gloria-haters. With real evidence I would gladly join the call for all claimed offenders to be jailed.

Aren't we all sinners in some way or other. I am not saying he should not be responsible for his actions, but at some point the animosity must stop.

Nope.. That actually makes him more credible.. The issue at hand is the GMA regime who corrupted billions of dollars.. It's good for a sinner to repent than one that still keeps on sinning.. He is believable because he has the courage to make a change..

No. It makes him more believable. Even without substantial or documentary evidence, I'd still say he's more credible than the Mike Arroyos and Benjamin Abaloses of this country.

Hmmm... talking about documentary evidences, if you are going to plunder this country of millions of pesos, would it be wise to leave a paper-trail behind? If you are going to steal, would you leave a fingerprint for people to see?

If we had gone by the "proper courts", the case would have been trashed since day one because of the lack of substantial evidence. Investigations will not continue because of a mere technicality. That's the seeming "loophole" in the courts of law.

We all know there is widespread corruption in this country, but why does legal justice seem to be too slow in resolving the "high-profile" cases? Simple. We are not talking about petty thieves here. We are not talking of stupid thieves here. The alleged thieves in the government are highly-educated and would never dream of leaving solid documentary evidences behind to incriminate them.

In this case, it will take a (repentant) "thief" like Lozada, to catch the thieves in the government.

Just my opinions. Thank you. :-)

To be credible, one must have evidence (not just words or stories) to support his claims or accusations. His personal life doesn't matter since it does not have anything to do with the issue. This is a strategy being used by his handlers with an agenda to again put him in the underdog situation and further sway support towards his testimonies which up to this day, he has not yet been able to support with evidence.

matthew, the tax collector, was a sinner and he became one of the apostles of the Lord.

the discerning can distinguish truth from lies. even hardened criminals tell the truth.

the worst thing of all is we can discern the truth and those in authority cover it up, like wolves in sheep clothing.

No because we are all sinners.

Unfortunately to some they look at it as whether they are small or big sins they are the same.

So if you wanna commit sin to get rich , better deal it big. In 200 million USD ways .

Each sinners will be happy and for those who didn't get even a drizle part of the loot are eating their hearts out.

No. It should make him more credible, provided the people focus on the issue of corruption in Government.

If the people are swayed by this obvious machination, and look at their morals, Lozada's character assassination would be complete.

No. When he acknowledged that he has sinned against his wife and family and has long ago been forgiven for such transgression, it doesn't make him less credible as a witness. That issue is a personal one - between Lozada and his family, particularly his wife and has nothing to do with the ZTE deal which is a national issue.

But this act from the government side is actually not a new one. Often they resort to dirty tricks to break up a family by bringing out dirty linens in the open or assassinating a person's character or integrity by falsely accusing him of wrongdoing. They forget that the people are no longer gullible. Since Marcos, the people have become more vigilant and very vocal in their outcry for justice.

No one except Jesus and Mary are not sinners. We are all sinners. This is the Gospel Reading for today. Jesus put his credit more to the tax collector when he beat his chest hard and uttered "Please forgive me Lord for I am a sinner"t han the publican who bragged about his being righteous and follower of the law. Jun Lozada admitted his sins. But there is yet another step to be done - to ask forgiveness which is an important facet to receive God's mercy and pardon (although he has still the personal responsibility of reconciling himself to God through the sacrament of Reconciliation.)And this he has done. Thus, we can ask others and ourselves, who in this world is more credible to testify to the truth?

Being a sinner doesn't stop the person from telling the truth.

With all these issues on him, the government administration will have its way of discrediting him and question his credibility. What else do you expect?
