For all Y'all only a semi-auto responders get a Winchester Top Eject 30-30 and enjoy the burn! The answer is yes! You are more apt to cause Yourself serious injury from the reaction of the hot brass than the hot brass can do.

depends on the gun and how you are holding it. Need to be more specific.

No. It ejects to the right side. Once in a while, they get on top of your head but they don't hurt. They are very light.

Yes. It happens at indoor range shooting booths. The shell casing can bounce off the divider and come back at you. I had a friend that that happened to. The casing came back and somehow got in between her shooting glasses and her cheek. She had a big oval burn mark on her cheek from the hot cartridge.

Shotguns: probably not
Rifle: Slim Chance
Pistol with a top ejection port absolutely. The shell itself does not hurt but if it goes down you shirt it burns like hell.

Unless you're holding a handgun on the horizontal axis like you'd see in rap videos, you should be OK.

When I rapid fire with my Mod 94 sometimes the brass will start bouncing off my hat. Got a hot one down the shirt coller once or twice too. Tends to throw you off a might.

I have had hot brass not only hit me in the face, but go under my glasses and land on my eyelid. Ouch!

The spent cartridge from a semi-automatic handgun can hit the shooter but it is not a common occurrance. If the shooter does not grip the handgun firmly but uses what is referred to as a "limp wrist" grip the recoil of the handgun can position it such that the spent cartridge is ejected back toward the shooter. If the shooter locks his properly when shooting the chance of a spent cartridge coming back an dhitting him is almost nil. the greatest danger from a hot spent cartridge striking the shooter is if it goes down the front of his shirt and is held next to his skin. It is possible for the hot shell to burn the skin sufficiently to cause a red mark. At worst, it can be rather uncomfortable.

Yes, it is very possible for an ejected shell casing fired from a semi-auto handgun to come back and hit you in the head, face, or jump into the back of your shirt. I had this happened to me numerous times during my 30+ years of handling guns.

Its uncommon, but it can happen. I've had a few handguns that ejected the spent shells right into my face.

Yes, from some autoloading guns.
They don't hit hard enough to bother you much,
but they can be hot enough to be a problem if they
fall into your shirt.

Yes it can happen. Sometimes you can incur a minor burn from the hot casing. This is why eye protection is required when at the range.

Yes
I have a Colt Combat Commander that bounces spent cases of my hat regularly, but usually only on the first round
Haven't figured that one out yet
Also happens when I rapid fire my Winchester 94s, but the guns were not designed to be shot like that anyway
None of my other thirty or so gun will do it unless I'm at an indoor range and the brass bounces of the stall wall
