What are your easter traditions?
either from your past as a child.... or maybe you have new traditions as an adult... I'd love to hear them!
Additional Details
my easter use to consist of going to vigil mass on saturday evening with my whole family cousins and all... then after church the kids would come back to my house and we'd get in our jammies and watch the easter bunny's coming to town, then we'd have a sleep over and have an egg hunt in the morning and have a ham dinner later on...........Now my easter consists of going to church usually on Sunday morning and still having a ham dinner but this year it will be small because not all of the family will be able to attend.

The tradition starts with Palm Sunday, actually. We always went to church to get palms and put them around the house. Palm Sunday mass is an interesting one.
As kids we would color eggs and my parents would hide them for us to find in the morning. Before we went to bed we would leave a carrot for the Easter Bunny.
In the morning the carrot would appear nibbled on, much to our delight! The Easter Bunny was really here! He nibbled on our carrot, even!
For breakfast we would have colored hard boiled eggs, sometimes with the braided bread, if someone had baked.
As young girls we had new outfits ... a spring coat or a dress and a coat, new shoes, maybe new patent leather shoes. This was not always. As we got older we didn't get new outfits every year—probably up to about age 10.
The meal was usually a large one, eaten midday -- manicotti or lasagne and leg of lamb and/or ham. Lots of spring vegetables, salad, fruit, fennel, coffee and dessert.
Wow. I can't wait for Easter!

The same as the rest, hide the eggs so the young ones Candy hunt for them, eat candy. Have a meal with family, usually Ham .
Yes I have been in a church and know the story, also the church took some traditions from the Pagans. So their is a nice mix to the spirit of the holiday.

When I was growing up..All of the neighbor kids would walk
to church together and also the parents, too.
(Our parents didn't attend).
Girls wore their new Easter bonnets and the laciest dresses.
They were either white or pastel colors. We carried lacy purses.
All the boys and men wore a nice suit an tie combination.
Some wore a boutonniere. Women wore a corsage.
It was exciting to me to see all the neat outfits.
It almost reminded me of a fashion competition
Now that I'm older I realize the the Holy Observance is not a
fashion completion.
Also,(reflecting back):It was usually cold whether and had to
wear our "clunky" old winter coats that (never matched your nice dress ensemble, anyway.
The services were very humble in our observance of Jesus's
Resurrection. Everyone was polite to everyone, and made strangers welcome.
When we arrived home mother had made a ham ,
mash potatoes with gravy and pineapple or some other dessert waiting for us.
Mother and dad would always hide our Easter baskets in the house. It was filled to the brim marshmallow chicks and dyed eggs and
solid chocolate candy.
Most of our neighbors hid their eggs in the house.

okay, well all my family comes down and we all celebrate. my house is the biggest and we have the biggest yard because all my other family lives in a neighbor hood. so they all come and sleep over, and we get up have a big breakfast and then go egg hunting and do our baskets.
