Hillary Claimed that Chelsea was nearly killed on 9/11. Was that a lie, too?

According to Chelsea, it was.

One of the most egregious examples of Hillary’s ability to lie without batting an eyelid is her account of the whereabouts of her daughter on 9/11.

Hillary told Katie Couric on the Today show that Chelsea was going out for a jog that day around the Twin Towers. Chelsea stopped at a nearby coffee shop when she heard the planes hit the towers.

Yet, in a written account to Talk magazine, Chelsea provided a completely different version.

She related that on 9/11 she was in an apartment far from the scene when she received a phone call informing her of the incident: she then watched the event unfold on television. Hillary lied to a national audience in order to appear more empathic—more able to relate to the enormity of the tragedy on a personal level because her daughter had been so close to the scene

Additional Details

You can find other stories on the 'net relating to this. Hillary claims that Chelsea was dodging falling debris, and that as a mother she was terrified, etcetera.

@Allen: She said it on Dateline, too:
Dateline asked, was Chelsea on that fateful day? Senator Clinton told NBC's Jane Pauley: "She'd gone on what she thought would be a great jog. She was going down to the Battery Park, she was going to go around the towers. She went to get a cup of coffee and -- that's when the plane hit."

Pauley: "She was close enough to hear the rumble."

Sen. Clinton: "She did hear it. She did."

Pauley: "And to see the smoke ... "

Sen. Clinton: "That's right."

Pauley: " ... in person, not on television."

Sen. Clinton: "No ... "

I'll look for the video

I haven't found any video yet, but this was from the Today Show:

"At that moment, she was not just a senator, but a concerned parent," the Today show's Katie Couric told viewers.

A few weeks later, an article appeared in Talk magazine in which Chelsea described where she was the morning of September 11. It was nowhere near the Towers, and bore no resemblance to what Hillary reported earlier on NBC. Chelsea was alone at a friend's apartment when the friend called to tell her what had happened. She then "stared senselessly at the television."

Chelsea lives in the Granmercy neighborhood, near one of the few private parks in the US. Tony neighborhood . Why the heck would Chelsea be jiogging near the Twin Towers... not exactly a jogging path.

Shortly after this tragedy, Hillary raced over to Congress and demanded 20 million for NY's firefighters and policemen. Congress was happy to appropriate. Problem is... it was Senator Charles Schumer, ( NY) who actually stepped up to the plate and appropriated the funds accordingly.

One more time. Hillary taking credit when someone else did the work.
