Black to Blonde?

Okay.
I dyed my hair black. And now I want it blond. And I don't want to wait for it to grow to half black half brown and then cut it and bleach it.
Should I like bleach it once then let my hair stay orange or whatever color for a while. Then bleach it again and leave it for a while. Then again.
Or is there a better way?
And please don't do useless answers like 'don't do it.'

My names Anya too haha okayy well ..

The first thing you have to do is deep-condition your hair to prepare for stripping.

i suggest buying a jar of cholesterol cream (an Afro-Carribean hair beauty product) or, failing that, your choice of seriously hardcore deep conditioner.

Put the deep conditioner on your hair after you've washed your hair (don't bother shampooing, anything in your hair will be stripped out and shampoo is just yet more unnecessary product in this situation) and dabbed it with a towel. Drench your hair in the stuff. Now blow dry it into your hair. When you blow dry, make sure to concentrate on one area of your hair at a time rather than moving the hair dryer around too much. This is because the heat from the blow dryer opens up your hair follicles and lets the conditioner's moisture in. Once a section of your conditioned hair is dry, let it cool off for five or ten minutes. This locks the moisture into the hair.

Once the hair is dry and cool, you're ready to begin stripping it (if you're stripping black hair dye out we recommend going for a stripper that says it uses conditioner while stripping).

You're now ready to stick the bleach in your hair. Be prepared for your hair to go a lovely orange pumpkin. Enjoy it. Because i lied - you're not going to go blonde today. It's just not fair to your gorgeous hair, so don't do it.

Be a pumpkin for one day, then the next day (or about three days if you can wait that long) use a beige blonde mixed with platinum blonde to get a real, natural-looking blonde that has no pumpkin in it at all.

Are you like a hair-dresser or something. You sound like you know a lot.

i'm having a similar thought at the moment. ive got red hair and want it blonde. really i think you should do what im going to do and seek the advice of a professional. that way it is less likely to be ruined.

well, you really should go to the hairdressers, because doing it yourself, firstly you will muck up the condition of your hair, and secondly if itr goes wrong, ur gonna keep doing it and doing it and it will make ur hair feel like straw

at the hairdressers, she will strip out all the black from your hair and apply the blonde do it - easy! only costs around £30 ($60)

    good luck

bleach it, then itll be orange, but then a few days later it should be fine to dye again. but dont bleach it too often because that REALLY damages your hair.

you need to go get it done professionally
they will most likely take you blonde in steps
    perhaps three to four
    it depends

i did the same thing i went from black to blonde
she first dyed mine a neutral brown/red color
three weeks later a lighter brown/red color
two weeks after that she foiled it and it was bleach blonde

the only parts of my hair that got damaged throught the entire
process was my hair around my face and she said that it was normal just to put repair on it and it turned out fine

but mine isn't blonde anymore i ended up not liking it and went brown

so just make sure you get it done in steps
and make sure that blonde is the color you really want.

The best thing to do is go to a stylist and have them strip your hair and then apply the blonde dye. But if you want to do something at home, try washing your hair with Tide laundry detergent. It takes the color out. It won't take the color out completely but it will fade it quite a bit. Wash it several times.

After that, wait a few days and go to a beauty supply store (like Sally Beauty, etc) and get some powder bleach. If you want to go blonde you might try the gold tinted powder. It will lighten the color and not make you come out too ashy. Then apply the bleach according to the manufacture's directions.

You might have to bleach it more than once. If so, wait a few days in between to make sure your hair doesn't break off or get too damaged.

You could also go to the store and get a semi-permanent hair color that matches the color you have now and apply that. It will wash out in about a month. Keep doing that until all the permanently dyed hair grows out and then you can start over fresh again.
