Do vegans wear silk?
Vegans dont eat anything involving animals. Example: milk, eggs, etc. Im wondering if vegans would wear silk since it come from WORMS.

There are different levels of vegan, and some may claim to be vegan and wear silk out of ignorance or disagreement with the definition, but overall I would say no.

They do not kill the silkworm to make silk. They need the silkworm alive to make the cocoon that the silk is spun from.
The secret of silk was kept by the Orient for at least 500 years. Thank goodness for Marco Polo.

No, they don't. Vegans use no animal products at all.

Sometimes, because it is a biproduct of the worm, it can go either way. Chances are they won't, but some do.

Nope. Vegans don't wear silk, just as vegans don't eat honey.

It depends. Some vegans do it out of a health aspect, and don't bother with things such as silk or leather.
I won't buy silk from a store except a thrift store or a garage sale, since it isn't supporting the silk company.
You adapt veganism into something manageable, and apply it to your life.

Yes, silk worms have faces.
Many silk worms are boiled alive in the process of making silk. I'm only a vegetarian but as much as I like silk I'll have none of it. Microfibre is a good alternative, mmmmmm...smooth.

Silk worms are kept alive, but isn't a WORM considered an insect. I'm a vegetarian, and love animals, but a spider crawls my way, and he gets smushed. :)

Some do, some don't.
I don't.
But then it is rather expensive and I am also rather a tightwad when it comes to money.
