Writers block sucks.?

I haven't written any lyrics in a while. I have, I guess, an extreme case of writers block. I wrote a short cross poem, but that's about it. I can't write a paragraph; all my creativity is gone, sadly. Can someone give me a line, or an idea to get me started. I'm afraid that I'm a lost case, that even though I love writing and drawing that I'm going to lose my talent, and fall into a black and white world. Thanks in advance.

The leaf poem is called an acrostic and it's really good =D

Maybe you could write about your writer's block. The metaphor of falling into a black and white world is really poetic and I can see it in a poem.

Try not to think too hard about it, the best ideas will come when you're not trying to find them, an idle thought as you're lying in bed or when you're daydreaming in maths class.

Hope that helped =D

This may sound a little weird but, when I got stumped in writing lyrics I looked in the bible for something that may start a spark.

i think the greatest inspiration comes from accidents and staying up late at night, though not necessarily in that order or even at the same time. be an observer of life. eavesdrop on people's conversations. if you find something funny or irritating, jot it down. or, if worst comes to worst, look around on Y! answers ;D

Hey, don't worry, you're not losing any talent that you have! I used to write stories and things all the time, and I know just from that experience, that writer's block actually does exsist, it's not just a phoney excuse we make up.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly what to do, because everyone is different, and has different ways of getting out of their writer's block. And also, I've never really wrote lyrics to a song myself, just stories.

But either way, I'll tell you what helps me get past it: music!!

I listen to really, really inspiring music!! Like, for example, if I wanted to write a special love story, I'd listen to something that really gets ideas flowing in my head! Like this:

    http://www.imeem.com/jazzmusic8/music/-7…

Or if I wanted to write about something really dramatic, intense, or action packed, I might listen to something liiiike....this!

Hope this helps any at all!

i don't think writers block exists.

just write, even if you think it's crap or even if it's unintelligible, let words and thoughts stream out of you like a water faucet.

eventually, something you like will come out. might take a few days. all "writer's block" is, is a writer being picky and not enjoying his or her own thoughts.

don't follow any strange "Cure Writer's Block" exercises you might come across, don't wait it out, don't listen to any ideas anyone gives you on what to write. Live in a creative atmosphere. A previous answerer said, listening to music can help - but whatever works for you. Whatever puts you in the creative zone. Everyone is different.

What does the poem need to be about?

    Here's mine

I should have killed you then
    When i had the chance
    Before you broke my heart
Before i gave you one last glance.

But now i can't help but love you
Like i have loved you all along
I still drown in your eyes
Your voice is a sweet song.

    Loving you is killing me
so i have to kill you first
Before we both go falling down
When life come's to it's worst.

    I'm tired of crying
    I'm tired of pain
This is all driving me insain.

I'm trapped in here and i can't get out
You locked me up,ignored my shout's
    You have the key
    Though you loved me
    Guess i was wrong
    I'm not that strong.

    I'm begging you
    Trying to escape
    Not much i can do
Get me out of this place.

    I miss your kiss
    I miss your touch
    With out you here
    I don't have much!.

I should have killed you then
    When i had the chance
    Before you broke my heart
Before i gave you one last glance.....

I've had the same issue too. I love to write and I always had a longing to write... Try doing something that might encourage you, like listening to your favorite band, riding your bike on your favorite trail, etc. Try looking online for more ideas or reading other people's work, Of course dont copycat them, but try to observe how they write, it might just in encourage you or give you ideas :) Hope I helped, and thanks for answering mine!

hmm well I find inspiration in reading and writing
and don't worry writer's block is temporary
try free writing. it's fun and seems to work even when you have writer's block
just close your eyes and start writing without thinking. its really strange what kind of things come out when you have no control over your thought process :)

and here are some quotes from books that I liked heehe:

what you don't understand you can make mean anything
we accept the love we think we deserve
I just want it all to stop spinning
it would be that time-late at night-when your ears reach out for any sound. when nyou can see more with your eyes closed than open.
you have endless ways you can commit suicide without dying dying
don't let them trick you again
what they don't teach you in art school is never, ever to tell people you wanted to be an artist. just so you know, for the rest of yoru life, people will torture you by saying how you used to love to draw when you were young. you used to love to paint
just for the record the weather today is partly soused with occasional bursts of despair and irritation
just for the record, she still loves you. she wouldn't bother to torture you if she didn't
you'll need to suffer make any real art
does anyone really know why they like anything? why people do anything?
    can you feel anything?

"right," he said. "wow, it's dark already. don't you h ate how that sneaks up on you?"
"yeah. they say it happens gradually, but I don't believe them."

    stuck in limbo
    in between worlds
    they roll the dice
    to decide your fate
    an unlucky number
will march you through the gate

    Source(s):

and listen to music, music, music!
I suggest the Get Up Kids, Mineral, Brand New, Death Cab for Cutie, Gregory and the Hawk
idk just lots of bands lol
good luck and hope the quotes inspired or at least amused you

What you need to is this: read. The more you read, the more you learn. And it also builds up your creativity.

I also recommend Stephen King's non-fiction book On Writing. It's a great book about his life and writing.

The best way to overcome writer's block is just to sit quietly by yourself and write whatever comes into your mind without thinking about whether or not its good enough.

It's really just a matter of soul-searching - looking deeply into yourself and your past, present and future.

    Good luck!

Why don't you write something about you having writer's block. I am a poet myself, and every time I get stuck I normally find that it helps me to just write about that. Something kind of like this.

My mind is empty and I can not think,
I fear that I am starting to sink.
This is something I can never fight
If I can not find something to write.

I hope that my tiny little rhyme will help you out a little. Writer's block is a pain, and I hate it too!

Here's an article on publishing that might leave you inspired.

Otherwise, when the spirit doesn't move you, you have to move the spirit.
