What does military arrest mean?

The question is obvious. Still stuck though. Can't find it at dictionary.com and in a dictionary. Any help?

In the military, an arrest is different than in civilian life. When someone is arrested, they are ordered to remain in their quarters, and may not leave except for certain reasons (hospital or legal appointments, etc.).

When someone is taken into custody by military police, it is called an apprehension.
