Whoa, some of these people's answers are insulting. . . .

I suggest one or more of the following:

1. Perhaps you haven't wasted enough of your energy. Try doing activities that burn up energy before you sleep. Not directly before though, you shouldn't spike your heart rate and then go to sleep.

2. Try eating a turkey sandwich and a glass of warm milk. The turkey contains an ingredient that helps you fall asleep

3. Often people require a completely dark room to sleep, try blacking out any light source or even purchasing a sleeping mask

4. People don't sleep because of stress. Just lay down in your bed with the lights off and try to relax. Imagine a place that is better then where your are now and see yourself go there. That technique is my personal favorite.

If your trouble does persist you might need to seek medical help, it might not be your fault. Take it easy.
