Should i have a wood rack in the house?

with winter coming i was wondering should i be storing some wood in the house? or is it ok to take straight from the outdoor wood pile?

I would definately suggest getting a wood rack for in the house.

there are lots of nice designs out there these days.

    You can go outside every time you want a chunk of wood if that's what you really want to do, but I would rather have a rack inside, close to the stove, so I just have to grab a piece and throw it in. Of course if you bring it directly in each time you need a stick for the fire, it will have snow and ice on it which will have to be brushed off, and the ice will melt when you throw it on the fire, and slow down it's starting to burn.
