Midwest Supplies is where I got my starter homebrewing equipment kit and I find they some of the best prices, plus they include a how-to-brew DVD with every order!
That page will show you what you need which is basically these things:
A Starter Homebrewing Equipment Kit that Midwest sells in a "basics," "starter," and "intermediate" level. The more you buy in a kit, the more you'll save later when you get addicted to this awesome hobby.
In addition to the starter equipment kit, you'll need three other things:
A Boil Kettle: Midwest sells these too, but you might be able to find them elsewhere. I would recommend at least 5 gallons, or more if you can find it. Stainless steel is preferred but aluminum and enameled canning pots work too.
A Recipe Kit: Midwest sells great recipe kits, as well as Northern Brewer, Austin Hombrew Supply, and Williams. Get something simple, like a pale ale.
Bottles: A 5 gallon batch of beer will require about 50 12 oz bottles (NOT twist off; returnables only).
Before you buy or do ANYTHING, you must read How to Brew by John Palmer. It is available for free online. Read through it, at least through extract brewing, and then decide if this hobby is right for you. The upfront cost can be expensive, so don't go in thinking you'll save money. Rather, it is a fun and highly rewarding hobby.
