What is the difference between non-skid and non-slip shoes?

My employer requires non-slip shoes, I have tons of non-skid shoes. I am just wondering what the difference is, if any. Thanks!

Now skid shoes won't make scuff marks on hard flooring, Non slip will help prevent you from falling.
