What color should I paint my living room and what color curtains would match also?

I am building a house so I have a clean palette I have chocolate colored furniture, medium to light colored wood flooring, light cream colored trim.

I think a dark grey or a deep pretty blue would be nice. Whatever you choose, I'd have the curtains match the walls - too many other colors otherwise.

Thanks I like the idea about the curtains and walls matching. I don't like a room to be too busy.

A rich terra cotta paint on the wall would be very nice. Depending on the window and furniture placement you could put chocolate curtains or there are plenty of rust or terra cotta fabrics out there for window treatments. If you go with the rust or terra cotta curtains, make sure that they are a shade or two off from the paint

red or burgundy depending on how bold you want to be, or even a deep blue would look good
