Depressing and self-loathing best friend?

i've been friends with the same girl since i was 11, i am now a month short of being 20 and she is DRIVING ME CRAZY!

every few months there is a new form of drama with her. She bisexual and her supposedly religious mother has forbid her from seeing any girls, claiming that it was tearing her marriage apart (huh?). every few weeks she's complaining about little details about herself that could easily be changed, complaining about a boyfriend who would do anything in the world for her, complaining about her mother and how bad her life is.

allow me to point out the fact that she has never suffered any hardships in her life ever, comes from married parents, middle-class neighborhood, and basically lives rent-free, has no job, and doesn't go to school. she lounges all day. (she's 22 yrs old)

i'm at the end of my rope with her, every year she does something that sets the rest of the group off and when we don't sympathize with her imaginary problems she gets mad and suddenly becomes dr. phil telling us we need to work out our problems, and let go of who it was that hurt us (as she put on my facebook page!)

if she wants to be with a girl, let her be with a girl. if she doesn't like her boyfriend, leave him. if her mother gets on her nerves, move out of the house and get a job. anything that will get her to shut up.

what should i do?

you need to tell her all this. i know its hard but youve been friends so long she has to take into consideration what you say and shes obviously not going to ditch you if you say it.
you need a best friend so dont sack her off, but make new friends or spend more time with other people its always better to get aalong with someone as long as your not with them all the time
