When baking brownies, can I put aluminum foil on top of the metal pan and then spray the foil with Spam?
Or am I supposed to wash the metal pan and not use any aluminum foil?
I've never made brownies before :(
Additional Details
Because the directions say "Grease (or use cooking spray) bottom of pan".

Yes, but you might want to spray with Pam rather than Spam (giggle).
Meat-flavored brownies just don't sound good.
Just teasing you...the foil will make it easier to lift the brownies out of the pan when they're cool, then you can cut them without cutting into your pan. I would spray the bottom of the pan before you line it with foil, too.

- We ended up not using the foil at all, but thanks! :)
(And I didn't know the difference between Pam and Spam. Luckily, my suitemate did that part! :P

first off, never spray foil with SPAM. if you could even get it to spray at all.
that said, yes, you can put foil inside the pan, spray it with PAM then add your batter. when they completely cool, carefully lift the foil and place it on a cookie sheet. this makes it easier to cut the brownies

You can do that with the foil and when the brownies are removed from the pan you will have saved yourself a clean up. Just throw out the foil.
You can also spray the pan with PAM and then you will have to clean the pan afterwards.

Lining the pan with foil won't affect the brownies. That's fine to do if you're trying to save time on clean-up. Just make sure it's sprayed/greased/buttered ...whatever ... same as you would the pan.

It's just best to do it on the metal pan because foil can burn and it has a different heat capacity than the pan does.

You probably mean Pam.
Instead I would grease the pan and put a layer of wax paper on the bottom of the pan.

I've made them at least 10 times since I was five. NO ALUMINUM you will be fine by just greasing the pan lightly. or spraying pam.

Yes, and they'll slide off even easier if you use the olive oil Pam. Never be ashamed of spraying any Pam! Er, wait.
