When I was pregnant with you I could feel your fingernails scratching me in the womb!

There is nothing wrong with what she said, she actually could feel your little hands scratching you when you were inside her.

I bet at the time she said this to you that she was talking about unborn babies, maybe a pregnant relative was around your home at the time, and the two women were talking generally about being pregnant and the forthcoming birth of this new baby soon, and she was just referring that when you were inside her, she could literally feel your little hands scratching inside her tummy. It was not meant in a nasty way.

Unborn babies kick an awful lot whilst till in the womb. When the mother is near to her time, and the baby is basically ready to be born soon, you can actually see on the mothers tummy a bump move across her tummy, that either will be a hand or a foot as the baby inside is moving around.

The unborn baby is in a sac of fluid, so what your mother was really talking about is that she did not have much fluid around you, therefore it could well be that she actually could feel your little finger nails.

Perhaps your at an age when you are just generally curious about pregnancy and childbirth, and this is quite natural for young girls to be curious about, so why not sit down with you mum some time and ask her any question that comes into your mind. She certainly did not mean anything nasty about you, honestly.

One day you will know for yourself what it feels like, and on the whole when a woman is pregnant its a very special time for her, its something we never forget, because though you know millions of babies have been born in this world, when you have your first baby yourself, you hold that beautiful little human in your arms and you just can't believe that you actually made this little human being.

It is a precious time to women when they go through pregnancy, of course it is not all fun and games for the whole nine months, as there will be times when your dead tired at night, and you lay down to sleep, and unborn junior decides that this is the time now, he will practise football, the poor woman is unable to get into a restful position, so at times it get on her nerves for a bit. This is because she is desperately tired, it does not mean she suddenly starts disliking her unborn child. It's a precious time for a woman as I keep saying, because its the one and only time you and that baby are as one, you are all hers.
