How can I reduce dust in my room?

Basically, I need to constantly dust my stuff, especially the if it's black because that's way more noticeable.

Every day or two my TV, Playstation, Entertainment center and fridge seems to have a new layer of dust on it.

I usually keep a window half open unless it's very cold or rain is blowing in. There is no carpet in my room, just hardwood floors.

How can I reduce this constant dust pile up?

i would try putting in a better filter if you have a furnace.. the cheaper the furnace filter you buy, the worse it filters the air..

also you could try an air purifier.. they are pretty cool my dad makes us keep ours right by the birds because they always make dust fly everywhere.. its kinda like a fan except there is a part that sucks the air in, and then it goes through a filter, and then the fan pushes it back in the air.. they are great!

have you tried sweeping up the dust with a vacuum cleaner attachment? or when you dust, do you actually use a cloth and spray that picks up the dirt and keeps it, or does it just wipe off the surface and send the dust into the air? a lot of those dusting feather things send more of the dust in the air then it actually picks up and then when it settles, everything is dusty again..

i would also suggest getting one of those swifter dry mops, they pick up dirt and dust off the floor really well.. you dont even need the mop.. if you want to save money, just buy the dry refills (make sure they arent for the mop) and just get on your hands and knees and wipe the floor yourself.. they are also great for just dusting furniture or anything with dust..

Very helpful! I picked up a small purifier and it's already making a difference!

Get a square floor fan and a square house air conditioning filter in the same size (standard easy to find at 20" X 20"). Tape the filter to the back (intake) side of the fan with wide tape and run the fan on low all the time. Clean the filter out or replace it every month or two. You will be surprised how much less dust there is in the house. The filter will get grey fast.

I use 2 in my house. Helps with allergies if you get a hepa filter.

    This is hard.
To start off with do you have a lot of friends/family around?

I'd suggest to keep on dusting (With polish) And straight afterwards hoovering.

If you don't hoover your not gonna collect the dust. So the dust will just float around your room and end up back on your tv again.

Also! Electrical items have static on them so, have you ever heard of cd cleaning spray? It reduces marks and stuff on CDS. Well i'd suggest spraying it on a cloth and wiping your tv and anything that may have static build up. As it reduces static on your equipment
