Is the problem improperly installed vinyl siding?

Pieces of the vinyl siding on our 18 month old home keep blowing off on one side of our house during high winds. No one else's home is affected in our cul-de-sac. Just ours.

Sounds like the wrong length nails were used. When installing vinyl siding, you need to leave the siding loose enough to expand and contract. This requires a bit longer nail since you still need it secured to the sheathing. Most installers leave 1/16 gap between the nail head and the siding.

Thanks everyone, well almost everyone, for the great answers. I've got a siding company coming tomorrow(NOT the one who did the initial install), to evaluate the situation.
