I'm not sure what you mean by basic but if you don't need electric or plumbing a wall is easy. As long as you have a building permit, you can find contractors in the yellow pages. With this economy a lt of contractors put up adds in news papers. I would also call your local job service or unemployment office. Some of them guys are trying to feed their families and really struggling. You can also go on "craig's list" a web site that has tons of categories and is user friendly. Your biggest worry using any of these sources would be getting what you want at the price you want. You should ask for references, actual jobs they did-never give out your address to someone you haven't checked out. If single, have some one with you when they come out and even pretend your a large violent family,he he. Ask the better bus. bureau if the person/firm has had complaints. And never give all of the fee before the job is done. Don't give more than agreed on fee, don't give more than agreed on deposit till work is done. More people get jobs or find workers thru word of mouth than by any employment agency. But even if it is a friend or friend of friend make all sign a contract ,simple one,to protect yourself. A fool and his money are soon parted. good luck.
