HOw would you feel if your husband became a professional poker player?
Would you have issues? What issues?

I'd be at his side in a long sexy gown, I'd blow on his dice and would let the good times roll.
Come on, a professional poker player? You should be proud and turned on.

- I liked your answer because it's in the true old fashioned sense of poker...he does make good money...it's just a bit odd when people ask what does my husband do...I lie...because saying he plays poker sounds...well...like a gangster or something!

I wouldn't care if he has a large enough sample to show he is a winning player. Unless he plays online though he can't really do that.
I play low stakes poker online and I show a profit, its not really that difficult. With enough time and effort you can make a living you just have to be smart about it.
You just need to have a big enough bankroll, and you can't be living off of how much you are winning, like there needs to be a cushion because downswings can be quite large.
In short, if he is smart about it, its not a problem.

I play professionally, and it has it's ups and downs. I have had friends lose 140,000 in a year and I have friends make over a million in one tournament. It is best to start part time and work a real job.
Working as a dealer, my friends our poker dealers, that quit to play full time. There were only a small few that made it. Tell him if he can win one good tournament, then you will consider it.

I would tell him the cards told me he better bring home lots of money and I bet him 20 bucks that if he doesn't, he's out that door.
