What is the name of this children's book about a boy from the Middle East?

I am looking for the title of a book about a boy from the Middle East that helps the FBI on cracking code while members from the town are getting sick due to the water line. There's a plan to make the whole town sick and kill them by contaminating the town's water line. This is a book that my sister-in-law described, but she doesn't know the title anymore.

I thought it was Refugee Boy by Benjamin Zephaniah, but looking back it might not be. Sorry. Refugee Boy is awesome though, same kind of thing if you're interested.
