I have an office suite and I am going to partition in it into offices.?
Does there has to be a vent return in every room where there is vent in (register)?? Please note that there will be some space below the door. All the offices will end up having vent in and return except one small office where there is a vent which gives, but there is no return.
Also, is it true that the return is always less clea than the vent in (register)?? Thanks

No, generally a return air duct is needed for areas that are otherwise isolated from other return plenums. A door with space below is usually acceptable. A book called the 'Uniform Building Code' can answer most of your questions generally but the 'Uniform Mechanical Code' is better for that type of question. The 'Uniform Plumbing Code' and 'Uniform Electrical Code' books may also be of interest to you. You can also get a cheap CAD program to assist you with design and layout. Have fun!
