My dad is soooo tight?

Question

Like honestly if I asked him for even $5.00 he would go mad and not give me it. And if you think that's bad, If i asked him for a candy bar that's 40 cents he would be mad and not get me it. It's making life hard..... hes soo tight. Is your dad like this?

Your dad must be really, really cheap or selfish. My dad doesn't make much money, but he prefers that we're happy and have what we need and he puts himself second. And luckly, we don't ask for stuff that much.

It's sad to see that people think that because their parents don't wanna buy them every little thing, it's a huge dilemma. Pay attention to the real world - because our world doesn't revolve around or pay attention to you.

So what if your dad wants to hold on to his money? He pays his bills, does he not? You sleep in his house, eat food he buys, and thrive in the comforts of heat and a/c? So he doesn't give you money for whatever you want. He pays for the things you need to live. You will not die without a candy bar. Stop being overdramatic.

Well, times are hard, as they say, and it's true. Why don't you get a job, and then you won't have to ask for handouts.

My Dad wasn't tight, but I never asked for much. I was glad to have a good home, two dear parents, always plenty to eat, good clothes to wear, never cold or hungry. We always enjoyed happy times together.

My dad's also like that. He gets mad at me for the littlest things. I just go to my room and don't talk to him for as long as I can. But my aunt and grandparents buy me anything I want, so I would ask them if I were you. Or you could speak to your mom about it. Men get angry easier than women. Tell your mom to talk to him.

Fortunately my dad never says no, but on the otherhand my mom doesn't buy everything I want either.

Just try to find any other family member who isn't soo up tight about money.
