he's given me a special nickname that no one else calls me and he lets me call him a nickname that no one else calls him. does that mean he likes me?

generally yes - im sure he likes you
i had a best friend and we had nicknames for each other and he liked me

nicknames dont mean he likes you. but hes probably interested in a deeper relationship.
