How much sugar should I put in a gallon of iced tea to make sweet tea?

I usually drink my tea unsweetened, but I'm making it for Ladies' Group on Tuesday night, and most of them like it sweetened. I was thinking about a cup. Is that too much?

First start with 1/2 cup and see if it is sweet enough, you an always add more but rather hard lol to remove it if you put in too much to begin with....
