Why would a guy want to lose his virginity this way?

Question

I'm in college and I found out that my 19 year old guy friend that is a geeky virgin, likes to spend his nights replying to ads on Craigslist Casual Encounters in hopes of getting laid and losing his virginity.

I encouraged him to lose it to a girl that he knows in real life or to a friend because Craigslist is bad but he doesn't listen. People have been robbed & murdered through craigslist.

Why would a guy want to lose his virginity that way?

I know of guys like this. Some people make being a virgin a huge fuss when it's not. I wouldn't want to go about that way to lose it and to me it's not that big of a deal. I hope you can get through to him before he gets in trouble. I too have heard of many people being robbed or murdered/kidnapped from craigslist even in my little area. Even if they are who they say they are, he could get an STD. Let him know that many girls find it attractive that he's still a virgin. I do. I only dated guys that are virgins and want to withhold from sex until something serious shows in the relationship. I met a great virgin guy that I'm getting engaged to. He was 22 when we finally made the step to getting that intimate.

I would have to say it's part of the affect that the Media has on our everyday life styles.. He maybe feels like he's a loser since he's like 19 and still a virgin... but he should know that when he truly does have a imitate relationship with someone truly special.. It means so much more that you waited.. But of course the media has Alot of affects on our daily life's and makes it okay to be sleeping around with anyone.. Another one of my opinions he might be desperate..

Coz guys don't think that their virginity is special, like girls do.

If you want him to lose it to somebody he knows in real life then offer to have sex with him. So he doesn't get killed or robbed. Make sure he has a condom. lol.

Because for guys, losing their virginity is less of an emotional connection and they just want it gone instead. He probably thinks that if he loses it that way, there will be no strings attached after.

hes probably afraid that he wont "perform" well his first time and that person he does it with will tell everyone within the college about it

hed probably rather lose it with someone he doesnt know so there is no harm done if he does horrible his first time

Most likely its because he suffers from low self esteem and doesn't think he can attract a girl. Remember too that guys don't put the same importance on losing there virginity as a girl does.
