It is due to some aspects in his personality, like being a tough guy, supporting his men in the field, having respect and giving respect..these things make him feel more like a man and less of a wuss just lsnng to his girl...even if he is not being fair!
my suggestion, try to avoid these tight situations of his friend or his grl, just try to get along fine and don't give him this mental confrontation.

1. Because his bud is honest and doesn't manipulate the truth;
2. His bud doesn't intentionally engineer arguments to trap him into uttering a misstatement, or for the purpose of catching him changing his opinion.
3. Loyalty.
4. His moods are consistent, and he's known him for way longer than the latest bad-attitude-in-too-big jeans.
David P's response needs a little augmentation:
Men are stupid and women are insane; eventually, the combination is lethal.
Comments and arguments like the asker's just point out that in this part of the world, marriage (and relationships) are nothing more than competitions to prove who's in control, who's more domineering, and who's got the power. For now smart money is in the concept of not getting involved/invested in the lunacy.

AN IMPORTANT CLUE! NOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? you say he takes his male friends side, obviously he's not into you. it means run as fast as you can to the arms of a real man. he's ignorant and he doesn't respect you. it only gets worst with time.
-
From the wording I am going to guess YOUR man did this. Probably he is either immature or just not that into you.
Mine has never done this, nor would any of our friends do that to their wives. Perhaps you should be more discerning in whom you date.

Because you are trying to control him and he is showing you that you won't be able to accomplish it. He will take the opposite side just to prove it to you.

Friendship can be a very strong bond.Many times friends choose friends that are much like themselves,which might explain why they agree so much.

Some guys are just like that. They take up for their friends because they don't want to lose them. They think the gf's will always be there no matter what.

Do you hate men?
Anyway, there's no way to clarify this as fact, so it's merely opinion.
