What temp is too cold for outdoor painting?

I keep seeing that it should be at least 50 degrees. Does that mean it should also remain above 50 overnight, or just be 50 or more at the time of applying the paint? So, 50 for how long after applying the paint for it to come out ok?

Read the label of the paint, all paint brands vary. Humidity also will affect the drying time. I have painted below the recommended temperature and had good results, just make sure the surface is completely clean and sanded so the paint can grip properly. Most paint's need at least 4 hours to dry to touch, but 24 hours to cure completely. If you NEED to get the painting done, I'd say do it, but if it can wait, wait.

You did not say how far below 50 it will drop, if it is from freezing to 45, I would consider holding off if possible. You could also use a fan to increase the drying speed.
