Are they my STEP siblings or just plain siblings..?

I don't know my dad if he has other kids out there are they just my plain brother/sister or are they my step brother/sister?

If your dad has children, then those kids would be your HALF brother or sister. This is because they are half-related to you. (shares one parent with you)
A step brother or sister is when your mother or father remarries someone that already has children and are not from your mom/dad (share no parents)

A plain sibling is a person who has the BOTH of the same parents

They are your step. They would be plain sibling if they had the same parents as you as if your real mom and real dad had another child. It'd be your half if your step dad/mother and real dad/mother were to have a child.

When you share 1 parent, you are HALF-BROTHER/SISTER.
When you share no parents, you are STEP-BROTHER/SISTER.
...and of course, when you share both parents, you're FULL BRO/SIS.

your (step) brother/sister have the same father and mother as you, they're you brother/sister

if they have the same dad but different mom from you they're you half brother/sister

they're not your step-siblings.
