Had a tooth extraction/Infected.?

I had a tooth taken out cause it was very infected they wanted to wait for the antibiotics to kick in but then they decided to just take it out..It tastes very disgusting and my stitches have all greenish pus all around in between them.My jaw hurts so much not even the percocet is working to take the pain away. Why is nothing working and is there anything I can do?

Your infection was obviously not cured by the extraction. Did you continue taking the antibiotics after they pulled the tooth? You're supposed to. Call back the dentist and tell them the infection is still present and worsening and you're in severe pain. They will likely have you come back in, cleanse the area and give a new, stronger antibiotic.

You should probably go back to the dentist. I had some teeth taken out, but they didn't get infected, so that's about all I can offer. It doesn't sound too good, though!

Have you called the dentist or oral surgeon that treated you? If not, do it now!! You need to find out if you need to go back in for a follow up. It sounds like you still have an active infection and maybe you need another round of antibiotics. If you are allowed to rinse yet, do so with salt water, and ice the area. I hope you feel better soon!

Tell it to the dentist. Get a prescription for the infection and the pain.

You could try swishing warm salt water around in your mouth and spitting it out.

sunshine, try this,,,get a water pick,,,,,a can of spray disinfectant from a food store,,one with a wide range of bactericide, and, anti mold, antifungal properties,, not as bad as keloggs pop tarts, which have additives, dyes, coloring that kids scarf up by the millions,,,in a four ounce glass of hot water, spray some disinfectant, like a couple 3 second sprays, rinse for 2 minutes,,spit it out,,,do it again,,this you try if no dr is available,,,,,,,I used this method on a 2 month camping trip in canada
after a tooth extraction with residual infection,it worked
you can also rinse with hot salt water,,,,,or pouring a capsule,or grinding up a tablet of antibiotic
into warm water to swish around, and gargle with,be sure not to swallow the god awful stuff .
the guy you saw perhaps missed a site of secondary infection,or the wound is just draining as it should
