There are lots of great free options for anti-spyware. I would personally recommend a nice program called Spybot- Search And Destroy. It updates frequently with the latest databases and it has a immunization feature that will block malware sites so you can't even visit them in the first place.

Other options include Ad-Aware Free, Super Anti Spyware, and Windows Malicious Remover Tool
