The code in Canada for wheel chair ramps is no more than 3" of rise per 1 foot of run. Therefore you need the ramp to be 12 feet long.

The rules for this seem to vary across the world so it may be helpfuf to know where you are as it seems the site software doesnt always identify this,

Have to go w/ pipe strangler.
Overall length varies from place to place.
!2 " of run to 1" of rise is common but 12" of run to 3" of rise may also be acceptible
There is nothing that says a ramp cannot have a shallower gradient than local or national code requirements.
Best to check local codes then visit any number of sites for access ramp designs that include width, size of "landings", switchbacks if required & railings ,In inches & mm.
Best regards

if its just temporary stick with a 48" base a 36"rise and go with that, who cares about code its just temporary, also if you go with 48" you can get most of your cuts from 8' pieces of lumber = CHEAP!!
