I am having a few friends over. What are some good Vegetarian party dishes?
Here are a few things I was thinking of making:
- a pasta dish- maybe a stir fry with pasta, veggies, and tofu (can you fry tofu?)
- Bruschetta
- Butternut Squash and Couscous (maybe throw in a bit of chopped coconut?)
What else? It's only gonna be about 4-5 people. Of course, there will be some red wine....
Additional Details
I am looking for serious recipes... If your'e a retard like Newton.... Don't waste my time.
I am not a vegetarian. I eat elk and other animals that I harvest for myself.... (not up for discussion here)
But, I am having some friends over that don't eat meat.

4 or 5 people is perfect! I would make a soup, a main dish, and a dessert. Maybe some butternut squash and carrot soup with a lot of garlic and cayenne pepper, then either something like chana masala or baked spicy tempeh triangles, steamed greens with miso sauce, and sweet potatoes, and pumpkin cake with pecan topping for dessert.

Deep fried butter battered bacon logs. Oh, sorry, you're vegetarian, oh I dunno, try eating some rice paper, isn't that what you guys eat?

Ponset - but without meat. Cook up some shredded carrots, bean sprouts, celery, onion and garlic in some oil (don't overcook!). While you're doing so, soak rice noodles in warm water until barely soft. Then, add the noodles to the veggies along with some soy sauce. Yummy! My mother-in-law is Filipina and makes this for me all the time. Of course, the recipe will vary from person to person.
And yes, you can fry tofu.
