Would this work with a dreaded navy blue carpet?

Question

Before I found a flat, I wanted to use pink, green and black as my living room colours. I may now get a place with navy blue carpets ( I hate it but what to do) could I still use my three colours and perhaps throw is some cream or white? Help!

Sure thing just trick the floor into behaving by putting and area rug over it that has a teeny bit of the navy and YOUR colors.

You can as accent colors but I wouldn't choose heavy dark colors for your furnishings. Choose lighter fabrics for your furniture and then accent with your other colors around them. When renting anyway you should always choose neutral colors for your furnishings so no matter where you move, they will match up. Accessories are easy to change out. Furniture is not.

Floor is like an accent color on the wall don't need to feet with anything
so go for, get your own colors, if you don't like... paint the carpet ( please don't paint the carpet)

Just use navy blue as if it was black. Get some accessories in really dark blue.
